Our aim for the children is to feel love and have fun learning a range of practices that help them experience God. We also provide a broad brush view of God’s relationship with people through Bible stories which lay the foundation for spiritual development.
Children fully participate in all age time at Sunday Stuff before breaking into specific age groups. All age time is very important in establishing respect and value for diversity in Christian Community. This time also offers the chance to observe and get to know adults outside their immediate family who are trying to live their day-to-day lives according to their beliefs.
Engaging in the full-term justice project is important in our wealthy consumerist setting. The contemplative practices are important in our busy media-crowded world.
Toddlers/pre-schoolers (18mths to 4/5yrs)
By the time a child has spent a few years in our toddlers’ program our aim is that they will feel loved by and safe with both God and us. We aim for them to enjoy coming to the Sunday gathering and to feel like an equal member while having some familiarity with Bible stories and Christian practices.
Primary (4/5 to 10yrs)
This age group begins learning and formation in earnest. Our aim is for the children to feel love and have fun as they learn gospel and bible basics in an engaging way. Helping them to master a range of practices to experience God, not only accumulating facts but gaining first hand experiences.
Tween’s (10 to 14yrs)
The main aim for tween’s is the chance to start owning their faith for themselves. The Sunday program includes time at Red rooster doing bible study, joining primary age group doing Spiritual Practices and joining the Adults in discussion and workshop. The tween's do day trips, movie nights and other activities to build a sense of tribe. With the variety of activities and programs offered for tweens we aim and go deeper and pave the way for baptism or another faith naming rituals as they become teenagers.
Teenagers (14 to 18)
We are in the process of planning a program for teenagers that will start next year as some of the tweens graduate. Stay tuned for exciting plans in 2014 :)
